http://www.grammarstation.com/KindsOfAdverbs.html
Unlike other adverbs, adverbs of degree are usually placed before the adjective or the adverb they are modifying, after the auxiliary verb, before the main verb or between the auxiliary verb and the main verb.
Examples: He is really good. (before the adjective)
She almost noticed his presence. (before main verb)
He is just sad. (after the auxiliary verb)
They don't really know you. (between auxiliary verb and main verb)
I was interested so I looked this up.
There is a concise paragraph on the subject in New Fowler's Modern English Usage (1996):
Accepted placings:
(e.g.)
who could certainly have afforded
was roundly criticized
he had inadvertently joined
>>>
But there are many reasons for altering the position of the adverb
(change of meaning, emphasis, rhythm, etc.):
e.g.
there is little chance that the student will function effectively after he returns to China.
<<<
RATHER THAN:
there is little chance that the student will effectively function after he returns to China.

Mullet
A HBC reader pointed out that the "mullet" was left out which he says was "the quintessential American haircut". HBC would not agree with that, but it was a haircut favored by rednecks, 1980's bands like DuranDuran, and soccer players for decades. It was not commonly worn by boys, but some teenagers in high school wore it. It is was a busy hair cut worn very long at the back. A HBC reader writes aboy the mullet, "That was definately a major hairstyle from 1985-1993 for boys. In 85, I was 12 years old, and very noticeably, many boys in my school had that haircut, and my school ranged from kindergarten to 8th grade. Not only was the mullet the major haircut, most other boys were feathering their hair." The term "mullet" is on your site, but to let you know what it is, it's the top and sides of the hair cut short, and the back long. We never used the term "mullet" ever in the 80's. That term was coined in the late 90's to describe the haircut. We just said "short on the top and sides and leave the back long". The "mullet" is actually an evolved haircut that came from the many feathered hairstyles.
Styles from the '60s and '70s are all around us. Pants, shoes, and some hairstyles from these times are still in fashion or have returned to fashion today.
One style in particular is the ever-popular Afro. Several men at OHHS with curly or busy hair have the hairstyle.
Many of the student with "Fros" indicated that it's not just the look of the "Fro," but that it's cheaper than cutting their hair every two weeks. Also, everyone interviewed indicated that the only thing bad about having an Afro is its high maintenance.
According to several staff and students, junior Jeremy Brown has the most amazing "Fro" in the school. "I got the idea from my brother and have been growing it since eighth grade. I like being individual, but its hard for me to get through doors sometimes," Brown said.

I actually think I liked the first movie better. In the first movie they were trying to make everything a real as possible. Like Hermione having busy hair. But in the second movie... they were moving away from that and instead gave Hermione curly hair so she doesn't look as "dorky" I guess is the word you could say...
And a couple other things I won't bore you further with.
I don't know why, usually I don't take symbolism that far, but for some odd reason it's incredibly fun to do so in this project. I even insert things like my sister's Sailor Moon fancharacter in the background just to see if she notices. ;)
Um, Echo, of well a project I'm working on so aptly named Echo (see how creative I am? ;p) has specific coloration to mimic a flower. She used to have wild and busy hair which I though would look just ever so slightly like leaves I soon after figured looked more like an afro. I didn't want anyone to go after me, as she is dark toned I thought maybe someone would take it as racial satire, I gave her long curly hair instead. I think the longer hair also has a stereotypical sesne of a nature lover. The curls still are an attmept to look like foliage, although I don't know if anyone will catch that anymore. *hee hee*
The media had to much power and are the ones who put Sam Sheppard in jail in 1954. On the evening of July 3, 1954 Dr. Sam Sheppard and his pregnant wife were having the neighbors over for drinks. They invited them to thier home witch was on lake Erie. Sam fell asleep on the couch before the neighbors left. His wife, Marilyn, then let the neighbors out and went to bed herself around midnight. Sheppard woke up to loud screams sometime later. When Sheppard herd the screams he rushed upstairs to his bedroom. He saw a “white form” standing beside his wife on their bed. Sam then tried to attack the form but was clubbed on the neck and quickly blacked out. He then herd a noise and went racing downstairs. He then saw the intruder and chased him out the backdoor and onto the beach, he noticed the man had busy hair. While he was chasing the intruder he leapt at him and tackled him from behind. They struggled for a few minutes and then Sheppard was knocked out again. When he came to he was partially submerged in water, he got up and staggered back to his house and called for help.(courtroom drama) Sam called his neighbor Spen Houk, the mayor.

Joystick is indeed recorded as a slang term for the penis, but it appears in writing for the first time in 1916; this might suggest it was borrowed from the aviation term, not the other way round, though the dates of slang terms are notoriously unreliable.

The noun pair can be followed by a singular or plural verb. The singular is always used when pair refers to a set considered as a single entity: This pair of shoes is on sale.
A plural verb is used when the members are considered as individuals: The pair are working more harmoniously now.
After a number other than one, pair itself can be either singular or plural, but the plural is now more common: She bought six pairs (or pair) of stockings.
(I think) This is correct:
Each pair in A and B, C and D, and E and F contain a shared component.
This seems less clear to me:
Each pair of A and B, C and D, and E and F contain a shared component.
(but maybe this is closer to normal (non-Geeky) English.)
This also seems less clear to me:
The pairs A and B, C and D, and E and F respectively contain common components.
