「〜から始める」と日本語では「から」で表されるものでも、英語では前置詞がin, on, atなどになる場合があります。これは、beginという動詞の性質によるものなのでしょうか。日本語の「から」と英語のfromにはどういった発想法の違いがあるのでしょうか。例えば、よくわからない例として、「一年は1月から始まる」では、A year begins with January.、「その話は大金持ちの死から始まる」では、The story begins with the accidental death of a millionaire.、「先生は今日は50ページから始めた」のときは、We begin at page 50.などがあります。beginが開始時に焦点があるということが影響しているのだと思いますが、何か良い説明がありますでしょうか。
