Reporting link error:
It seems that the links in the 'Relay Mario' column are all dead links, at least on my computer.
Take the first link as an example:
The link should have been ttp://smbarchives.run.buttobi.net/relay/file/059.zip ,
but it was actually linked to ttp://smbarchives.run.buttobi.net/relay/relay/file/059.zip
and then 'File not found error'.
Is it faulty on your computer also?
It reappears also on my computer.
And it is written here(No.8) about this.
ttp://jbbs.livedoor.jp/bbs/read.cgi/computer/28712/1143214706/
Moreover, this condition appears also at "Lab File".
This seems to be the problem of the base tag of html.
But other than changing address by yourself, there is no solution.
Has anyone tried to play music using SMB?
We know there are a lot of SMW Jidou Mario music sequencer projects.
There once were a Jidou Mario project by 4Jouhan, but of course there is no music-playing function for that.
Some time ago, I checked ATA's Demonstration patch and found it useful(Apologies, and thanks for this).
I made a few changes to the system, and then added a music playing function.
Now, do you consider it nice if an SMB hack becomes a music sequencer...in a system which is original and can be bugging if you play the game but not the music?
If you are interested, check this page:
ttp://w7n.bob.buttobi.net/hacks.html
(This patch can only be used to design music sequencers.)
A patch is under creation.
My patch may not be consulted.
It is because my patch is easier reconstruction than other makers' thing.
Although this place was checked, I thought that it was not necessary to write in.

Mr. w7n, Nice to meet you, it is something that the ATA.
Thanks for playing "EXTRA ADV 4".
It was so, and his first contact with something,
I will reply on this occasion.
Judging from the wording,
Why are you being asked to provide technical information and create a "Hack Mario".
Own feeling is already retired, but not totally go with,
It is a long-awaited opportunity, and if you can help a little depending on the content, I think I have.
(However, · · ·. Should not be too high hopes)
With regard to the exchange of the future,
While I hope that we will use this BBS.
Language in which to speak from here,
I described the original Japanese, the English translation using the Web.
Need support... One question to ask ATA-senpai:
What should I do if I want my game to keep playing the music in same area types, instead of playing the BGM again?(Effect in EMB, VS series)
Should I alter the NMI routine?
>>164
Many thanks, ATA-san! Owing to [2], this effect can even help me in an additional way since the music selection routine I designed is flawed.
I think I get the reason there are emulation bugs when EMB is run on specific emulators(due to [1], the program does not set these values, they remain #$FF at the beginning instead of #$00)
And I'm looking forward to EA5's release.
Sorry for speaking English all the while. I'm taking a Japanese course for beginners this semester, but that won't be of much help I guess... (More kanji & katakana words, and it's easier for me to guess the meaning)
Machine translation is simply unreliable...
ATAさんへ
あなたの作品Extra Adv 5には問題があると思っています。
WORLD 4-1で、スクロールは開始から8マス右に移動する時、ゲームは「白色シーン」を入ります。それから、クリア出来ない。
(More accurate in English: When the scroll position reaches 8 squares right of the starting position, the game resets from World 4-1, and afterwards enters a white scene, which gives me a feeling of deja vu that I'm playing '人生オワタ\(^o^)/の大冒険'.)
私はSMBUを持たないので、原因が分からない。

Good luck in university & hope you'll find spare time working on SMB someday...
I'm still working on Rohrleitung Gate, but progress has been very slow due to lack of ideas and loss of info I gathered before.
Are you now hacking SMB using NESASM?
Assembly is a convenient method once you get a high level disassembly source code, but if not, binary editing is still superior because of the branching & jumping destinations.
Hence I'm still using WinHex for editing...
(Crap. Now my English is getting worse, but I can't express all those in Japanese either.)

As far as I know there is one here in this Chinese site, but this video demonstrates(abuses) the use of glitches and skips a few levels.
ttp://tieba.baidu.com/shipin/bw/video/play?kw=%B3%AC%C2%EA%D2%BB%B4%FA&v_id=36874c3bda8e1d184cf6aac8
If you can watch it then it's fine. If you can't or if you still need help, just post another reply.
This video doesn't cover the hidden level World -1.
I'm sorry... I've tried ALL the possible ways, changed the URLs, nearly everything... and nothing works. I can't watch a video, it gives me out an error (?) screen and that's all.
Please save me!! I just want a walkthrough of SKMvol4, that's all I ask of you!!
Anyway, thanks for your reply, w7n-san! I hope you'll help me!
By the way, where can I find _recent_ Super Mario Bros (NOT SMW!) hacks except this place?
While being here, I'd also like to say arigato gozaimasu to ATA-san for making the famous Extra Mario Bros!
Sorry for the offtopic... (I don't even know what the topic of this thread is LOL)
>>195
About the walkthrough: Which emulator do you use? If it's VirtuaNES or FCEUX, I can try to start from scratch and make a movie file.
The recent SMB hacks: Try Romhacking.net. One of the good hacks there is Super Mario Unlimited by Frantik. (Unfortunately SMB hacking has really been going downhill...)
I don't know if the music is a reference or not either...
This thread is titled 'Contact, free talk or other usages'. As I see, the topic of this thread is rather free.
I'm using the John NES Emulator for the Android OS. It doesn't support movie files. However, I'd be glad if you posted a movie file. :) I'll probably repost it as a video on YouTube,
because YouTube doesn't have a walkthrough of that brilliant hack.
There was a walkthrough, but it was deleted...
Fotunately, I found a video on Youku. Here's the link:
ttp://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNDIzODA3Mzky.html
I had problems with lvl2-2, because of the zone where the same pipe can teleport you to 4 different areas. I discovered only three, not knowing abut the fourth. Anyway, thanks for the help,
because I found that video only by copying your search results into Google (LOL). i don't know Chinese! xD
Thanks a lot for giving me the Romhacking.net site! I visited it lots of times, yet I didn't understand how good it was!
By the way, I'm going to read a thread there which is about Mario Gaiden!
Thanks for your help, w7n-san!

If you could ever get the newest version of the emulator FCEUX I'll probably start making a movie of both the normal route and the hidden ending.
I don't think SMBR is going to be fully in English unless someone else who speaks English decides to translate it. The author appears to have quitted SMB hacking.
Downloading an emulator is not a problem for me.
I'm waiting for your movie file!
Oh, I was hoping for a translation, but... anyway, I don't need it personally. I have no patience to make a decent level design!
The problem for me is that I can read Japanese kana but I don't understand nearly anything... As I've read "maintenance", you probably meant the buttobi server was down... Am I right?
By the way there doesn't seem to be _ANY_ walkthroughs of Kamikaze V3 and Kamikaze V4 on Youtube!!!
>>201
I still can't upload any file to the SMB Archives 'Old uploader', maybe due to a problem with my PC. I tried changing the directory of the file but that didn't work.
So I've uploaded it here.
ttp://www.bwass.org/bucket/KM4W.zip
The buttobi server is frequently under maintenance. I also have a buttobi home page but I'm considering moving it to another site.
(I'm not good at Japanese. In that sentence I probably should have used 「屡」instead of「いつも」.)
Thanks a lot for this walkthrough! I guess I'm going to watch it some time later.
Is it OK if I post it to YouTube?
Now I'm able to find out the hidden secrets of this game... That's just so good...
I noticed this site being frequently under maintenance, too...
And Japanese is really hard to me, unfortunately. I try to learn it, though!
>>207
I'm not good at Japanese but I'll try. There may be several errors.
どうやら、EMBを遊んで頂けたとのことで。。
こちらこそ、ありがとうございます。
Apparently, you've already played EMB, so thank you for playing.
EMBほど大掛かりなものではありませんが、
ここ数年で作成した作品も、こちらの「旧UPローダー」にて公開していますので、
もしよかったら遊んでみてくださいな。
I(ATA) haven't made any other hacks as large as EMB yet. I have uploaded several of my hacks made during these years into the 'Old uploader'. Hope you'll enjoy them.
>>ATA
Thanks a lot for this hack! Yes, I have been playing, I haven't completed it yet, sorry. It's a greatest Mario hack even up do 2014!!
I've seen your other hacks and I'll try them out. But later. :)
>>Ghersaw
Well, in China(PRC) we have to use some proxy stuff to access youtube.
Anyway, no problem with the video. And feel free to check my projects also in the uploader.
