Indians exercised RHP Josh Tomlin's $3 million option for 2018.
The homer-prone right-hander holds a 4.66 ERA over the last two seasons, but $3 million is a reasonable price to bring him back for rotation depth. Tomlin is slated for free agency next winter.
Indians exercised OF Michael Brantley's $12 million option for 2018.
It didn't seem like a given after Brantley played in just 101 games over the last two seasons and had major ankle surgery last month. However, the two-time All-Star hit .299/.357/.444 this past season when healthy, so the Indians decided he was worth the health risk. Brantley isn't a given to be ready for the start of 2018.
