きわむさんの例文は不自然であるように感じます。
I like apples.
She likes apples.
We like apples.
They like apples.
Tom likes apples.
Tom and Mary like apples.

これについてですが、きわむ作文と書きましたが、この作文には理由があります。以下に引用しておきますが、「In generalizations and rules, singular and plural nouns are both possible.」「Mixtures of singular and plural are possible.」とその前に説明があるという理由です。「generalisations や rules においては単数と複数の両方とも使用することができます。ひとつの文の中での混合も可能です」というように私は読み取りました。だから今回のきわむ作文はおかしくないと思っています。どうおもわれますか?
-----------------------------------
530 singular and plural (8) : distributive plural
3 generalisations and rules
In generalizations and rules, singular and plural nouns are both possible.
We use a past participle in a perfect verb form. (OR We use past participles in perfect verb forms.)
All documents must be accompanied by a translation of the original.
Mixtures of singular and plural are possible.
Subjects agree with their verb.
Children may resemble both their father and mother in different ways.
This often happens with fixed singular expressions like “at the beginning.”
Discourse markers usually come at the beginning of sentences.
-----------------------------------
We drank, talked, and dances.
のように動詞が複数ある文もあります。
でも、これはそういう話ではないと思います。
この文は「主語と動詞は一致する」という単純な意味を伝えたい文だと思います。一つの文の中に主語や動詞が一つあるのか複数あるのかという問題を主題にした文ではないと思うのです。今回のきわむ作文はおかしくないと思いますが、どう思われますか?

Be my friend.

>A subject agrees with its verbs.
>という表現でもよくなりませんか。でも、これって変ですよね。
変ですね。ただ、「ORの記述がないからSubjects agree with their verbs.が不自然」と
読み取れなくはないとも思いますが、同様に、不自然とも言い切れないと思っています。
どちらについても明確には記載されていないからです。この例文が可と言っているだけです。
そういった状況の中で、Subjects agree with their verbs.
Subjects agree with their verbs.
