Hwa-byung (also known as wool-hwa byung): A Korean folk syndrome literally translated into English as "anger syndrome" and attributed to the suppression of anger. The symptoms include insomnia, fatigue, panic, fear of impending death, dysphoric affect, indigestion, anorexia, dyspnea, palpitations, generalized aches and pains and a feeling of a mass in the epigastrium.

BACKGROUND: Tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-) is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine, associated with various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Elevated TNF- levels in peritoneal fluid have been reported in women with endometriosis, suggesting that TNF- may be involved in the development of endometriosis. In this study, we investigated the possible association between endometriosis and the TNF- gene promoter polymorphisms –238G/A, –308G/A, –857C/T, –863C/A and –1031T/C in a Japanese population. METHODS: We compared the distribution of the –238G/A, –308G/A, –857C/T, –863C/A and –1031T/C polymorphisms in the promoter region of TNF- in 130 endometriosis cases and 185 controls using PCR–RFLP analysis. RESULTS: The allele frequencies of –238A, –308A, –857T, –863A and –1031C in controls were 2.0%, 1.3%, 19.4%, 17.0% and 18.6%, and in the cases 1.1%, 0.3%, 19.6%, 18.6% and 13.6%, respectively. No significant differences in frequencies were found between the crude endometriosis cases and controls. However, when the endometriosis group was divided into a subgroup of women with stage IV disease only, the frequency of the –1031C allele was significantly lower in this subgroup than controls. CONCLUSIONS: The variability of the –1031T/C polymorphism of the TNF- gene may be associated with susceptibility to (AUTHOR: as meant?) endometriosis.

One condition, which is what you may be referring to, is actually nick-named "moon-face" (seriously!) - I do not know what the specific medical term for this is. There are some medical documents out there available on the web that talk about moon face and I'll see if I can add one here later for you. Moon face is the slang for whatever the real term is for "bloating" or "swollen face". Someone also called it "chipmunk cheeks" on here once; but I've only seen notation as far as some internet med articles which call it moon face.
Another (slang) for waste-line bloating which can occur directly in the area of the lower abdomen (and again, this is SLANG, but is still known by most pain docs) is "buffalo hump".

The study showed a prosthetic graft placed at the site of the coarctectomy, between the midportion of the aortic arch and the descending thoracic aorta, with the left subclavian artery and left carotid artery reimplanted into the proximal portion of the graft. Two aortic stumps left from the previous surgical repair were visualized. One smaller stump was located at the proximal end-to-side anastomosis of the graft with the aortic arch. A larger distal stump was located adjacent to the distal end-to-side anastomosis of the prosthetic graft with the descending thoracic aorta.

Company officials say the pill itself will cost about $300 for patients. The entire system will cost $30,000 for hospitals, including the receptors and computer station.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's "The Sixth Day." In that film, ...
... visits a pet-cloning shop where he can order a clone of his family dog, which had suddenly died.
The scene from the movie is a fabulous exaggeration of what a company like GSC offers. There is no instant cloning while you wait. You can't tinker with your pet's DNA to make your cat or dog smaller, larger, fluffier, or less likely to shed.
But that fictitious pet store, called RePet, was selling the same promise the pet shop for clones is peddling - to regain an emotional connection to a pet.

"Seasonal allergic rhinitis" describes nasal allergies that change with the seasons due to pollen from plants. In 1997, nearly 35.9 million Americans were affected by this type of allergy. For these people, symptoms come and go with the pollination seasons of certain trees, grasses, or weeds. Pollen levels from these plants can vary day to day, depending upon several factors, including the weather. High pollen levels can, in turn, affect the severity of symptoms.
"Hay fever," a popular term for seasonal allergies, was coined in 1828 by a British physician, Dr. John Bostock, who noticed that his symptoms worsened during the British haying season. (The expression is misleading because allergies seldom cause a fever and are rarely related to hay.)
