The song, "Silent All These Years" by Tori Amos is an excellent example of repression. Tori released this song on her first album, "Little Earthquakes" in 1991. This song has become almost an anthem for women in abusive relationships.
(父)親による子供の精神的虐待の物語。
(probably comes from the official transcription, by Yukiko Kishinami and Kunihiko Yamashita; found on a Japanese site which no longer exists, in two parts):

Toto recorded a song called "99," but apparently the band intended it to be taken not as a paean to Barbara Feldon but instead as a "mock-Orwellian cautionary tale" about the future, a future in which "depersonalized people have numbers, rather than names," according to Alert Reader Will G., who also notes that Toto is dumb.
The all-female ska band Agent 99 used to be pretty famous in ska circles, evidently. They broke up a few years ago.
Also, there was an obscure early-'80s rockabilly/punk/power-pop (?) group called "Get Smart," but I don't think that's a TV reference.
when Toto penned their song "99" in 1978, just exactly whom did they have in mind? The only person I can think of is Barbara Feldon, aka Agent 99, on "Get Smart". I agree: oh 99, I love you as well... but is she really the subject? But who else is named 99? Is it an alias, because the songwriter didn't want the subject to know about his love? I mean, if he wasn't so bashful, would the song have come out like "Oh Debbie... I love you"? So many questions, so little motivation to find out for myself.
