The Clockwork Core has protected the world from the Netherim for longer than even the Guardians can remember.
As the Core wound down, the Netherim slipped through.
They brought destruction to the races of the world.
They subjugated the powerful, and concealed themselves well.
Awaiting the time when they could hold one true hero in their thrall.
One capable of destroying the Clockwork Core, and throwing wide the gate between worlds.
Yet they did not foresee that another hero would arise to stand against them and seal the Netherim in their ethereal prison once more.
