I'm w7n from Romhacking.net, and I have some questions about SMB Hacking... I know you are the best SMB Hackers, so I am here for some help.
OK, I'll try to make it easy to understand.
1.ASMers, which tool(s) do you use to test & input codes? Is it VNES Debug?
I used NO$NES Debug, but not so good...
2.About the BGM, what does the '98 99 9A 9B 90...' after the length data '12 01 03 02 06 09 0C 04' mean(wave data?), and how to use that part of data?
And also, who is still active here?
PS: Problem with 'SMB Music Analysis' in the lab, I got a 404 file not found...?
<If this post need to be removed or moved, truly sorry, because I can't understand the rules here.>
>>2 Thanks a million, masa.
Well I downloaded the files successfully via the link you provided, and I found the files very impressive and useful.
Unfortunately I can only understand a part of the meaning by guessing the meanings of Kanji & katakanas. I couldn't understand the, '12.5%, 25%, 75%...'(whatever,) part.
Now you know where I'm ACTUALLY from? I didn't dare say that at first because I was afraid that this one would be like the 2ch forum...(Praying: Oyobidesuka...Kono hoshi wa onoi touri...)
Currently I am working on the 6502-ASM language, trying to make some changes on my own. However I can only make some minimal changes now, like: When Fiery Mario gets injured, he changes into Super Mario. (Still leaving a bug that makes Mario jumpable when gets hurt, just like the Kinoko-Jump.)
I wonder how Japanese ROM Hacking masters can make complex and tremendous changes(?) That's why I asked Question #1. I also used a hex editor WinHex, and did tests in VNES, but still I progressed slowly.
(PS here: I have made it possible to change the 'Pause' SE into Rockman's 'Menu' SE, why didn't ATA do this in VSYD and VS Airman? :-P)
Uh, I don't understand the rules, should the contents below be in the post 'その他 連絡,雑談等 他目的スレ' ?(If the meaning of the kanjis are the same...)
Anyway, I hope to get other ways of connecting you hack masters, e.g. by e-mail, etc.
Sorry, I couldn't understand part of 'Praying: Oyobidesuka... Kono hoshi wa onoi touri...'
Oh, I think it wonderful that you can understand a part of Japanese!
I am not detailed about it, either.
But I regard '12.5% 25%, 75%...' as it being 'Duty ratio'.
Here are my guesses:
The ten's place is 'Duty ratio'. And 9 is defult(50%).
The units place is 'Envelope'.
It is about 'Duty ratio' here: 'ttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duty_cycle'.
My Website is here : 'ttp://www.geocities.jp/masa_yuu_kaimari/'
(Written in Japanese, But English page may be also made in the near future.)
'支援パッチ' means 'Support Patch'. There system hack are made with (called Binary Editor in Japan).
I want to try ASM language, but I can't understand it well. :'(
(The programing language which I can understand is only C#, Managed C++,BASIC(Not VB). However, there are only a few.)
So I usually only use HEX Editor.
About the post, I think that it is OK.
'その他 連絡,雑談等 他目的スレ' means 'free thread'.
My e-mail address is here: masa_yuu_kaimari(a)yahoo.co.jp

Could I understand your English and was My English different?
If wrong, please let me know.
