Falls
A Fall is defined as loss of control by a Skater with the result that the majority of his/her own body weight is on the ice supported by any other part of the bodyother than the blades e.g. hand(s), knee(s), back, 80buttock(s) or any part of the arm. For every Fall there shall be a deduction (see Rule 353, paragraph 1.n).

1. Basic Principles of Calculation
n) Deductions are applied for certain violations specified in the Regulations as follows:
Violation:Fall Rule 503
*Senior Single Skating: -1.0 for the first and second fall, -2.0 for the third and fourth fall, -3.0 for the fifth and any further falls. *Junior SingleSkating: -1.0 for every Fall.
*Pair Skating and Ice Dance: -1.0 for every Fall by one partner and -2.0 for every Fall by both partners
Pattern
There is no longer a required pattern, but a step sequence must fully utilize the ice surface. The Step Sequence must be visible and identifiable and should be performed by using the full ice surface (e.g. straight line, serpentine, circle, oval or similar shape). Failure to achieve the above description will result in no value.
In features 2 and 3 “pattern” means the pattern actually executed by the skate
