Recently, we experimentally demonstrated a protocol for the preparation and succeeded in reading out of vortex qubit states in the classical regime ( about 2002 ).
We could manipulate those vortex states by varying the amplitude of a magnetic field & its direction and by applying a bias current to the junction.
Other proposals with multi-junction loops for designing better flux qubits are under development ( about 2003 ).
In particular, the use of π-junctions with an unconventional current-phase relation is being considered for the design of qubits ( about 1999 〜 2000 ).
