"Ritsumeikan University Prof. Kenzo Toki, an expert in earthquake-
related engineering, said: “It’s a positive sign that local
governments have made more precise examinations of potential
earthquake damage. If we take thorough antiquake measures,
damage can certainly be reduced.”
“The central and local governments need to use a variety of means
to communicate to residents the dangers posed by a major disaster,”
he added.
