wouldの用法
ニュアンス：
過去の楽しい思い出や習慣的な行動を回想しているような印象があります。
現在はもうそのような状況ではないことが暗示されています。
"would + 動詞の原形" の用法
過去の習慣や繰り返し行われた行動を表現する際によく使われます。
例：We would go to the beach every summer. (毎年夏には海に行ったものだ)

Duolingoで理解できなかった表現：

空港で出迎えてくれた運転手が、私に対して「ようこそ、私の国へ」という挨拶をしてくれた、という状況を表しています。
