2009 年 春頃に日本で発売された ‘謎の’ CD が、最近オークションに出品されていて思い出した。
タイトルは、「Yesterday once more Tribute to Carpenters」で、ジャケットは「青春の輝き ( You need to be in love )」※ のそれとよく似ているが、中味は日本のミュージシャンが The Carpenters の人気曲を歌ったものが収録されている。
初めて店頭で見た時は、「青春の輝き」を店員が間違って J-Pop の棚に置いたか、誰かが故意に置いたと思ったものだ。
※ 「Brain Salad Surgery」→ 「恐怖の頭脳改革」同様、日本語タイトルがオリジナルタイトルとはかなり違う CD (或いはレコード) の一つに違いない。
