Between Burnley away on Sept 2 and Wolves away on Nov 11 the furthest Spurs will have to travel for a game is Luton. All their other games in that period are in London.
Such a contrast from previous seasons where with Europe (+ League Cup) this would be such a draining period.

HT: 0-0 but Spurs battering Sheffield Utd. Foderingham has made 7 saves, the best from Bissouma & Son, & Maddison had a decent penalty appeal waved away. McBurnie finished the half with a free header straight down Vicario's throat. https://twitter.com/Dan_KP/status/1703058929364721682
Plenty of good football on display from Spurs with chances created with Maddison, Son, Sarr, Solomon and Bissouma all testing the Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.
Tottenham are just missing that clinical edge in the final third with nobody showing that finisher's touch in and around the box so far. The second half might just open itself up for Richarlison or debutant Brendan Johnson to come off the bench and write their own script.
There was also a call for a penalty shout when Maddison appeared to have his ankle clipped on the edge of the United box.
Postecoglou on the whole will want more of the same but with more risks taken in the final third. At the other end of the stadium, Spurs' defence have dealt with most of what came their way.
Sheffield United are well organised and it will take a Bissouma or Maddison twist or turn to break through their lines and Spurs' movement beyond them needs to just be that little bit better.
HT 0-0. Spurs dominating without creating loads, could have had a pen. Bissouma excellent again, Solomon very busy, Udogie and Porro with some nice touches.
Johnson and Richarlison among the options on the Spurs bench.
Half-time: Tottenham 0 Sheffield United 0. Frustration starting to boil over on and off the pitch with plenty of stoppages. Boos at h/t but presumably for the officials. Bissouma, Son and Maddison have all tested Foderingham but Blades proving a tough cookie to crack #thfc https://twitter.com/GeorgeSessions/status/1703058882392735840
Spurs have done it! What a turnaround. Entirely fitting that they used all of that added time to patiently find two ways through and that second goal was perfect Postecoglou football. Richarlison and Kulusevski the scorers but Perisic also came on and played a key role. https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1703078134247981289
FT: 2-1. What an incredible end to the game, shades of Leicester in Jan 2022. Richarlison with a goal and an assist after coming on as a sub. Amazing after the week and few months he's had. https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1703078177948504147
Few things sweeter in football than a win snatched from the jaws of defeat. Throw in the fact it happened so late in stoppage time because of persistent time-wasting and, well... https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1703078606451167573
GOAL #THFC! THEY HAVE TURNED IT AROUND. Richarlison at the centre of it, holding off his marker and setting up Kulusevski to riffle home deep into stoppage-time. A brilliant team move. 2-1. 101' https://twitter.com/GeorgeSessions/status/1703076787511501208

Postecoglou on changing the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium atmosphere: "We felt it from the Shakhtar game and United game, this is only our second Premier League home game, but games like these can go a long way to creating an atmosphere here." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1703090670720749573
Postecoglou: "There was a fair bit going on out there today. Asked Postecoglou about Richarlison: "Richy was great. I thought all the subs who came on really helped. But that's been a consistent theme. And hopefully a day like today helps him." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1703094491786219947
Postecoglou: "It would have been easy for our supporters to get frustrated but I do think our supporters are seeing in this team, even when things weren't going to script today and we were 1-0 down, they can see the team trying to play the kind of football they want (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1703095733686014253
"to see and I think that helps. They can resonate with that. That's what they want to see in their team. They want to see aggression when we have the ball and aggression when we don't have the ball. I think they've bought into that because they can see that's what (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1703095735523090680
"the players are trying to do. In this early phase it's crucial because that hopefully fast tracks our development as a football club because there's no doubt that the players got energy from the supporters today. No doubt about it." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1703095737548959789
50 - Ange Postecoglou is currently unbeaten in 50 home league matches as a manager, with 42 wins and 142 goals in this time, in a run that spans three clubs (Yokohama F. Marinos, Celtic, Spurs). Mentality. https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1703083669353578794
100 - Tottenham's win today was their 100th Premier League victory after conceding the first goal, just the second team to reach the milestone after Manchester United (103). Turnaround. https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1703085741037756853

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - RICHARLISON (TOTTENHAM)
Difficult to choose when Sheffield United were so close to a shock win, with Jack Robinson impressing in defence for The Blades, but with a goal and an assist you have to give it to super-sub Richarlison. Some contribution.

MOTM = @richarlison (10) 👑
Special mentions = @dejan.k10 + @ivanperisic444 👏

It was hard to think about how we played for 98 minutes with that ending. Could have been a completely different player ratings if things didn’t go to plan in the late stages. Need to be realistic and say that wasn’t our greatest performance of the season. However, I thought we played decent from start to finish and did deserve the three points in the end 🗣️

It was a relatively quiet game for the skipper but his confidence has been boosted this season by a new manager and a hernia-free life. He looks assured, even if he couldn’t find the decisive touch.
98 - Spurs went into the 98th minute trailing to Sheffield United before winning 2-1, the latest winning comeback by a side in Premier League history, surpassing their own record (95th min v Leicester in January 2022). Spursy? https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1703079642666516887

Spurs now have 13 points from their first 5 games to start the Premier League season. A record they haven’t had to start a league campaign (assuming 3 pts/win) since 1965-66.

"Seeing Richarlison score felt better than me scoring. Richarlison has had difficulties since last week, and I'd been thinking about how I could help him.

Nothing will ever compare to when @SpursOfficial fans sang my lyrics in the stadium today. I’m spurs over everything and we have the best fans in world football. Thank you.

Heung-Min Son – 6
After hitting a hat-trick against Burnley in Spurs’ last game, Son found it hard to get into the game. Coming up against three physical centre backs was always going to be a challenging task for the South Korean. He only had 29 touches in the game and was substituted with ten minutes to go.
Richarlison (Tottenham): A goal and an assist from a player who has clearly been struggling with his form since he joined Spurs changed the game against Sheffield United.
The movement by Richarlison for his headed equaliser was quite brilliant but it was his unselfishness and ability to pick out the pass for Dejan Kulusevski to score once inside the penalty area that won Tottenham the match.
This is a player I have previously criticised. I have, in the past, found his antics rather juvenile. However, to have played in midweek for his country, returned on time to play for his club amid suggestions about the state of his mental health, come on as substitute and had such an impact on a match speaks volumes about the Brazilian's strength and courage. Long may it continue.
Forward: Richarlison – Tottenham
After a difficult period of form and honest admission regarding his mental struggles this week, the script was written for Richarlison to make a decisive contribution for Spurs this weekend.
The Brazilian came off the bench to turn the game around against Sheffield United, heading home a stoppage-time equaliser before setting up Dejan Kulusevki’s late winner for the north Londoners.
It’s been tough at times for Richarlison at Tottenham, but could this be the turning point in his career with the club?
Son on Richarlison: "Not only me, everyone in the squad and club was very happy for him. It was tough for him and we all hoped that this game would help his confidence. He changed the whole game. That’s what we were waiting for. Richy, probably everyone, is not happy when not in the starting XI but we know how important it is to come on and change the game like he did or Ivan, Brennan, Emerson, Pierre. Everyone did a really good job. It’s important to keep an eye on it. Everyone is very happy for him. This is part of the family. We always want to have a good time when we play with each other. Richy obviously had a very tough time, a tough season. But I was very, very happy. I was probably more happy than him. We need him as a team, he has really good quality but the confidence is massively different. For Richy, I just wanted to give him the big hug he deserved and he really showed his quality. Richy is a really strong guy, a good character and can always bounce back strong. But when you have a tough time you need good people around you. I always try to be a friend of him and if he needs anything then I can help him from my experience or my playing wise also. I think everyone is standing behind him helping. He did an amazing job for this club."
Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son on the season so far and the Spurs squad: "We are still on the way. Obviously big games, especially like Saturday, makes it more tighter and closer as a group. But I think obviously you can’t compare to the real family but we are getting really, really tight in the changing rooms. Everyone is working for each other, everyone is running for each other, everyone is fighting for each other. If someone comes off you give a hand off and everyone is happy to do that. That makes us really strong as a team and a group. We’re getting really close. We hope we can be even tighter than this. I have good players and also amazing people around me, it makes my job really, really easy for me. I don’t try and be harder or difficult in a different way. I just want to be a good example by actions. I’m not the guy who is always talking and leading by words. I try to be a good example to everybody but having this group of players is making my job really, really easy."
Ange Postecoglou bringing the enjoyment back to Tottenham Hotspur is ‘really important’ says @GNev2
“I said when we went to watch Tottenham versus Manchester United a good few weeks ago now, that they’re going to have a lot of fun this season, the Tottenham fans, and I think that’s really important, that your team has that cohesion with the manager and has that feeling that he belongs there,”
“There’s no doubt with Postecoglou that they believe this is a man that’s a good man, he speaks up in interviews, he’s got an honesty about him, he plays good football, he takes risk – which I think is really important for Spurs fans. At this moment, I would say it’s absolutely fantastic but we need to just review it in January, because I’m sure that’s what the Tottenham coaching staff will be thinking; very early in the season, not a time to get carried away, a time to keep working and next weekend is a showcase game I can’t wait for.”
Feyenoord’s technical director Dennis te Kloese insists that he ‘immediately’ turned down Tottenham earlier this summer.
“Arne Slot was closer (than me to joining Tottenham).
“I think that Slot was very close to a transfer for Tottenham. That is why we are happy that he is still here. We also hope that that choice works out well for him.
“I honestly hope that we will be in the same position next year package, because that would mean that we have had a good year.
“I have no interest in working elsewhere. Personally, it is not a good time to go elsewhere. My family is just starting to get used to the Netherlands, even though the weather is less favourable now!
“Tottenham’s interest is flattering, of course. But I immediately gave that club a ‘no’.”
“I don’t try to be harder or difficult in a different way. I just want to be a good example by actions. I’m not the guy who is always talking and leading by words. I try to be a good example to everybody but having this group of players is making my job really, really easy.”
#Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has said if he could add any former Premier League legend/player to his side, he would choose former #Spurs man Glenn Hoddle, because every time he was on the ball ‘something magical was about to happen’ and he’s ‘always liked creative players’
🗣️“In the end, I just stayed calm, it’s a game of football when Richy scored, I knew then we weren’t going to lose, I got the ball and just did my thing. I knew I had to do one good thing to score and that’s what happened.”
🗣️”Honestly, the first second when you see the ball go in, it’s quiet for one second and then you feel alive. All the hard work is worth it for that one second. We had to stay calm. You see our coach, Ange, he’s on the sidelines always being calm. So, we have to do that as players, stay calm, trust in each other and play like a family.”
🗣️”We’re very happy because the fans helped us through the game. They didn’t get frustrated, they stayed by our side, they wanted us to win, and, in the end, they helped us to win. We know we can improve a lot.”
🗣️”First half, I thought we wanted to score too much, we thought we’d score a lot of goals, but we had to stay calm and wait for the game to come to us.”
🗣️"Naming rights deals are complicated and we only have one opportunity to name the stadium. Getting the term, fee and brand partnered with all correct are difficult".
🗣️"Football is at the heart of everything the club does and is the club's key driving focus.”
🗣️”The club is self-sustaining, competing in the most competitive league in the world.”
🗣️”The strategy to date has been to invest in the playing squads, build a new training centre and increased stadium capacity.”
🗣️”The focus now is to optimize those investments - both tangible and intangible - and drive revenues that enable the club to reinvest in players and create a winning club."
🗣️"Significant investment has been made, building for the future both on and off the pitch.”
🗣️”Club revenues were only those that the Club operations generated, Financial Fair Play needed to be properly enforced to be effective and the focus now was on optimising revenues and ensuring that the Club’s funding strategy is long-term and sustainable.”
🗣️”The Club is doing everything possible to maximise revenue to go back into the First Team."
🗣️"N17. It's more than just a place. It's where we dare. It's where we do. All of us, as one. It's home to our history, our heritage and our past; but it's where we focus on the present and future too”
🗣️”Because today is the day when we build the foundations for tomorrow. Foundations that will change lives. For generations. Foundations that create extraordinary experiences. Memories to cherish forever and moments which bond us together.”
🗣️”It's where we unleash our creativity and welcome the world to our culture, to our community. Where our rich diversity shines with pride and purpose. Because we all rise when we lift others.”
Richarlison equalised with a powerful header in the eighth minute of stoppage time before providing the assist for Dejan Kulusevski's winner two minutes later.
That incredible impact has earned the Brazilian a place in the Team of the Week selected by the Premier League's all-time record goalscorer Alan Shearer.
Richarlison (Spurs)
"Changed the game. He was only on for 20 minutes but scored a fantastic header and then set up the winner."
No matter where your Premier League loyalty lies, it was hard not to feel happy for Tottenham striker Richarlison, who inspired a breathtaking comeback against Sheffield United following a particularly challenging week. The Brazilian was only named on the bench after admitting to seeking psychological help for off-field problems, but he headed in his first home top-flight goal for Spurs as a substitute before setting up Dejan Kulusevski to complete the latest winning comeback in Premier League history.
CF: Richarlison (Tottenham): To play just 20 or so minutes and still be the standout striker of the weekend shows how devastating the Brazilian’s cameo was. Richarlison started Tottenham’s dramatic comeback win over Sheffield United by heading home the equaliser in the eighth minute of stoppage time before, two minutes later, laying on the pass for Dejan Kulusevski’s winner. The Brazil forward has spoken of his struggles in recent days, so hopefully, for the player andclub, this is a sign of better times to come
League leaders Manchester City lead the way this week, as they're represented by four players in our XI following their 3–1 win away to West Ham, while Rodri is our Player of the Week. 🏅

Heung-Min Son on Sunday's North London Derby: "It is a special game - for them as well. The result is probably the most important of the season. Look, we had a tough year of away games, it was tough to take. Winning is never free. You go there and you won’t get three points for free. We wish we could get them for free. Go there, get three points and come back. It sounds easy but it’s never like that. We have to work hard, we’re working hard in the week. The players are ready and looking forward to it. I’m pretty sure they don’t want to face us at this moment. I guarantee we’re going to give everything. The result I can’t promise you, but one thing I can guarantee is we’re going to give everything for this club on Sunday.”
Heung-Min Son on the Arsenal game: "Any away game is tough in the Premier League - not easy. We had a tough year at Arsenal last season. I know what it means for the club, the fans and players as well. We should understand what kind of game it is. It’s going to be a really difficult game but they won’t want to face us at this time. We just have to give it everything we have and it will be a difficult game for both sides, but we’re looking forward to this game because it’s the right time to play against them. We’ll have a good game!"
Son Heung-min will still be in many teams following the GW4 FOMO. He has looked solid so far and should still prove a great option if he continues to play through the middle. Two tough fixtures await first though. https://twitter.com/fpl_radar/status/1704787976239079804
Gabriel Martinelli missed out midweek after injuring his hamstring last weekend, but he does have a chance of being fit for this one. Given the form of Leandro Trossard since he has come in though, the Belgian is likely to keep his place regardless.
Although David Raya has kept clean sheets in successive games since replacing Aaron Ramsdale in goal, Arteta would would not confirm who would start in goal for this fixture.
Ivan Perisic is likely out for the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament in training this past week, which limits Potecoglous's options at full-back, but Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil are nearing returns and could be available after the next international break.
After his impact off the bench against Sheffield Utd, Richarlison will be considered for a start here, which would likely see Manor Solomon drop out of the XI.

Son Heung-min is only 3 goals short from the 200th goal in Europe milestone in total (20 for Hamburg, 29 for Leverkusen, 148 for Tottenham = 197 goals) according to Korea / Japan PL copyright holder SPOTV.
Spurs equalise! It's Son. Johnson goes close once again before the ball comes back eventually to Maddison and he cuts inside to the byline and finds Son who places a lovely flicked shot inside the right-hand post. https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705941063247028732
Spurs level through Son after Maddison's pull-back. Brilliant work from Maddison to dribble to the byline and find Son with the cutback. It came after Spurs' best spell - they were brave and kept taking risks, and they get their reward. https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1705941031005339649
HT: 1-1. Very impressive how Spurs came back into that. 1-0 down and rocking they kept playing the same way, passing it out from deep positions, and it gave them a foothold. From there they created some chances and put on enough pressure to force the equaliser. https://twitter.com/CDEccleshare/status/1705942723151249880
GOAL #THFC! SONNY! A thoroughly deserved leveller after brilliant play by Maddison. He races away from Saka and picks out Son, who scores via the post to equalise in the 42nd-minute. 1-1. https://twitter.com/GeorgeSessions/status/1705941043571503347
Half-time: Arsenal 1 Tottenham 1. Cristian Romero's own-goal put the hosts ahead but Spurs deservedly level at the break through Son. Visitors have been really impressive on the ball and created chances, but Arsenal - and especially Saka - look dangerous when they do attack. https://twitter.com/GeorgeSessions/status/1705942873957400945
Tremendous first half Arsenal v Spurs. Jesus missing that chance to go 2-0 after robbing Maddison of the ball was massive. You just can’t right Spurs off though under Postecoglou. They won’t stop… https://twitter.com/chris_sutton73/status/1705942626023661787
4 - Cristian Romero is the fourth Tottenham player to score an own goal against North London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League, after Chris Armstrong, Kevin Wimmer, and Hugo Lloris - all four of these own goals put the Gunners 1-0 ahead. Self-inflicted. https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1705939328885522444
11 - Cristian Romero is the 11th player in Premier League history to score an own goal and give away a penalty in the same game, and the first Spurs player to do so. Whammy. https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1705949802779885965

James Maddison has now registered 13 goals and 12 assists in the Premier League since the start of last season. He has now got 3 goals and 3 assists so far for Spurs.
Out of 11 goals Tottenham have scored against Arsenal since 1 January 2020, Heung-min Son's strike today has been Spurs' 10th goal involving either him or Harry Kane.
One half of the partnership is still very much up for the derby. 💪
Gunners were better for most of the 2nd half, but Jorginho's error just after Saka gave them the lead gave Spurs a lifeline, so the points end up being shared.
For the first time since 1 September 2019, Tottenham avoid defeat at the Emirates!
2+ - Ange Postecoglou is the fourth manager in Premier League history to see his side score at least twice in each of his first six games in the competition, along with Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Craig Shakespeare (Leicester City). Goods. https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1705964205084430555
Definitely a different Tottenham Hotspur here than years gone by. Even after a couple of mistakes & that big Jesus chance, they stuck to their principles and played the ball around. Shaded the possession, managed the occasion with almost as many shots at goal. Plenty to build on. https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705961530758664347
6 games in. Still unbeaten in the Premier League. Spurs went for it today - Postecoglou was very bold and I love this approach - a good performance and I felt we were the better team. 2 superb assists from Maddison and some clinical finishing from Sonny. Bring on Liverpool next week!
Full-time: Arsenal 2 Tottenham 2. An entertaining derby ends all square and a really fine result in only the seventh match of the Postecoglou era. Son with a brace to earn a share of the spoils and fully deserved. Tottenham were bold and brave, as Ange insisted. Promising signs. https://twitter.com/GeorgeSessions/status/1705962223099601000
First real test for Spurs. Brave on the ball throughout despite nervy start. Twice behind and recovered showing resilience and belief. Manager making big calls taking his two major attacking threats off with both CM’s on yellows. Trusting your squad builds faith and a mentality. https://twitter.com/pokeefe1/status/1705960850375254127
Arsenal 2 Spurs 2 at FT. Spurs will feel that is another sign of their development under Ange Postecoglou. Arsenal not at their fluent best & Gabriel Jesus's miss in the first half was pivotal. https://twitter.com/philmcnulty/status/1705960881216008398
FT 2-2 Superb entertainment. Thought Bissouma was excellent. A frenetic game for long periods but he finished with 48 out of 51 passes completed and brought real composure for Spurs. https://twitter.com/JamesOlley/status/1705962114072932787
So glad that wasn’t serious for James Maddison. Replay looked terrible. Joy to watch when he is at the top of his game, central to everything that has been good about Spurs this season. https://twitter.com/RyanTaylorSport/status/1705953824819523710
Arteta on Spurs: "I think they are a really good side. They've got a really good coach. You can see the spirit in the team and the energy, but six games is too early [to make a judgement on what they will be fighting for at the end of the season]." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705969581192339543
Postecoglou: "It's not about being happy with the result. You can get a result and a draw and think you've escaped but I didn't think that today. I thought we went toe to toe with a top team." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705971784896405644
Postecoglou on the penalty: "It seems like some times it hits your hand and it's a penalty and other times it's not. It is what it is mate, you hope these things even themselves out.
"Any clarity would be great. I have no idea what a handball is now." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705972869925073032
Postecoglou on Son: "He's been outstanding as a leader and as a player. I've put him in that nine position now and he just works so hard. His first thought is what's best for the team and he puts himself into that position and then he has the quality to finish. (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705974016748491089
Postecoglou: "I thought both our full-backs had difficult jobs today. Arsenal have outstanding wide players but they dealt with it. Destiny picked up a yellow card but I felt he dealt with it well and ended up as the dominant player on that side. (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1705974186458358017
Top top drawer from James Maddison. Plays the initial long pass to progress from deep to find Kulusevski in-behind. Then follows up in the next phase by beating Saka in a 1v1 out wide & assisting Son. He’s dangerous in so many zones. https://twitter.com/PremLeaguePanel/status/1705941057186288050
26’: Bukayo Saka uses the dart celebration when Arsenal take the lead 🎯
42’: Maddison gets the better of Saka and lays on the assist for Heung-min Son 🎯
It didn’t take long for Maddison to get revenge for the use of his celebration 😅
54’: Romero adjudged to have handled the ball and Saka puts Arsenal 2-1 up from the penalty spot 🔴
55’: Mistake by Jorginho and Son levels it at 2-2 ⚪️
Son Heung-min
Had the ball in the net early on but was a long way offside. Teed up Johnson for a big chance five minutes from the break before flicking home his first goal before the break. He then calmly slotted in his second goal straight after the visitor's penalty. It was his 150th goal for Spurs and his 198th goal since moving to European football. Led from the front with his pressing and those goals. 8
Heung-min Son 9
Transformed from last season and already halfway to his tally of 10 League goals after two clinical finishes. Also set up Spurs’ first good chance for Johnson.
Son Heung-Min – 9 – Seldom in the game until levelling proceedings with a neat finish. He equalised again shortly after Saka restored Arsenal’s lead. It proved to be his fifth and sixth Premier League goals through 17 appearances in this fixture.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - BUKAYO SAKA (ARSENAL)
It was a coin toss between him and Maddison, but Saka takes it for edging a brilliant tussle with Destiny Udogie throughout, and his contribution to both goals. His shot caught Romero to give Arsenal the lead, and a cool as you like penalty early in the second half restored it. Everything positive Arsenal did came down his side.
PLAYER RATINGS
Tottenham: Vicario 7; Porro 6, Romero 5, Van de Ven 6, Udogie 7; Bissouma 7, Sarr 6, Maddison 8; Kulusevski 7, Son 7, Johnson 6.
Subs: Hojbjerg 6, Solomon 6, Richarlison 6
Son Heung-min – 8.5: Had an under the radar game until 40 minutes — and then came to life. Both finishes oozed composure. Whenever he had the ball, panic within the opposition could be sensed. Star performance.
Son Heung-min 9/10
What a captain’s performance from Sonny, who scored a fantastic brace. His composure in front of goal playing centrally is outstanding. He didn’t impact play for large portions of the match but was lethal when he needed to be.
Heung-min Son – 8.5 – Come on, Sonny! He had barely been in the game up until that first goal, but he tucked his chance away expertly. Son as a striker relies more on balls in behind so he can play on the shoulder, and it took Spurs until the second half to do that. Scored two and could have had a hat-trick!

Son Heung-min, 8
The South Korea international is clearly back to his best, and has found a new partner in Maddison. Offered a constant and varied threat with his penetrating movement across the frontline and produced two clinical finishes to earn Spurs a point. Deadly.
Yves Bissouma (Tottenham): The mere fact that this lad struggled to get a regular game under Antonio Conte is more a reflection on the high-profile Italian manager than it was on the Mali international. Bissouma has been a revelation for Tottenham so far this season and played against Arsenal with the sort of passion you expect from a midfield player in a north London derby.
The player's ability to engage the opposition and at the same time cover ground has been outstanding. A draw against Arsenal was probably a fair result but the Gunners couldn't have screamed if Tottenham had come away with all three points.
Son Heung-min (Tottenham): This was an impressive Tottenham performance against their north London rivals. To go behind twice away at Emirates Stadium having had the most shocking penalty decision awarded against you takes some steel and Son displayed plenty of it.
Since the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, I detect a maturity in Son's game I haven't seen before - I also see a better team player this season. Both of Tottenham's goals were brilliantly taken by Son. Spurs didn't sulk over the awarded penalty either but had every right to make a fuss. The rule is a joke and must be scrapped. Read why I think the rule is destroying football in the Crooks of the Matter below.
Ange Postecoglou has already recorded more points (1) away at Arsenal than his three #thfc predecessors, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte, collected between them. [The Athletic] https://twitter.com/HotspurRelated/status/1706230147332833628
"He's been outstanding as a leader and as a player. We have put him in that nine position now and he just works so hard. He is so team-first orientated, it is incredible. He puts himself in those positions and then has the quality to finish."
I know we’ve only drawn here, but has there even been a football manager who’s made such a profound positive impact on a club in such a short space of time, as Ange Postecoglou has made at #Tottenham?🤔
Not the result we all wanted, but our players showed brilliant resilience and character every time we encountered difficulty, can’t fault anyone for that.
Can’t help but feel proud of this team, only at the beginning of what is going to be a very special journey.
“Neutrals talk about Tottenham, they often say: ‘Soft, weak, bottle it, Spursy.’ All that rubbish. I think the last couple of weeks shows we might be going in a slightly different direction.”
| #Tottenham midfielder James Maddison is set to have a scan on his knee but he looked to be moving normally after the game as he undertook his various media duties.
It is understood that the initial feeling from the player after the game about his knee was positive.
🚨Sergio Reguilón is well on the way to securing a permanent transfer to Man United.
🇪🇸Reguilon's positive performances have 'gained weight' with United officials ahead of a possible permanent deal and is winning a lot of people over in the hierarchy.
"150 goals with you all is a special milestone I'm so proud of, with so many to thank. But today most importantly, we showed such a unity and fight as a team. We have a lot to be excited about as a club. #COYS."
Never mind a player appreciation post… let’s make this an appreciation post for the whole team.
Such character and resilience shown to grind out the draw there. Could’ve got 3, but also could’ve easily came away with 0. VDV, Maddison, Son, Bissouma, Vicario unreal just to name a few. Proud of these lads.
Heung-Min Son 8/10
Two clinical finishes for the Spurs captain who looks back to his best. Link-up with Maddison bodes well for remainder of the season
Son Heung-min – 9 – The goalscorer on both occasions, and played 2 key passes as well showing his attacking impact in this game. Playing in the more central area allowing him to drift into spaces and get involved more often, as opposed to staying out on the left.
Heung-min Son - 9/10
Son netted a double, becoming the first Spurs player to score a brace at the Emirates. He took both his chances well as he extended his goal tally for the season to five in six games. He also brought up his 150th goal for Spurs.

However, Saka's contributions were cancelled out on both occasions by Son Heung-min, who donned the armband in a North London derby for the first time and combined with his vice-captain James Maddison to great effect. The South Korean's deft finish drew Spurs level before the break, and another calm first-time strike across David Raya's goal would rescue a point for the visitors, prolonging their unbeaten run in the process.
CM: James Maddison – Spurs
Two assists from James Maddison helped Tottenham clinch a big point away to Arsenal. The England midfielder is embracing the responsibility handed to him by Ange Postecoglou.
CF: Son Heung-min – Spurs
After years of being the no.2 to Harry Kane, Son Heung-min is shining out on his own as Tottenham’s centre-forward. Two perfectly place finishes against the Gunners showed he has the chops for the role.
CM: Yves Bissouma (Tottenham Hotspur): The Mali international is Spurs' gun midfielder at present with all his attributes on display in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal. Destroys attacks, keeps the ball well and drives the team forward.
LM: James Maddison (Tottenham): In a game in which Arsenal mostly had the upper hand, two moments of magic from Maddison set up goals for Tottenham to equalise. Left Bukayo Saka chasing shadows to set up the first of Son Heung-min's goals and dispossessed Jorginho before teeing up his South Korean teammate for the second.
CF: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur): Much like Maddison, two moments of brilliance threw Spurs a lifeline in the North London derby. His first goal was secured with the aid of the post and despite the attentions of three Arsenal defenders, while his second showed superb composure to side foot past Arsenal's David Raya.
CM: James Maddison (Tottenham Hotspur)
In the biggest game of his Tottenham Hotspur career to day, James Maddison put in arguably his best peformance for his new club so far.
The midfielder was at his creative best on Sunday and assisted both of Son Heung-min's goals at the Emirates Stadium.
ST: Heung-min Son (Tottenham Hotspur)
Son Heung-min has now scored more north London derby goals than Thierry Henry, Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie.
He's an all-time Tottenham great, and his brace against Arsenal at the weekend proved why.
Son Heung-min (Tottenham) - 8.12
Spurs captain Son Heung-min starred for the away side in Sunday’s North London Derby, scoring both goals as they came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw at the Emirates. The South Korean forward also made two key passes and maintained a pass success rate of 92.9%, as Ange Postecoglou’s team continued their impressive start to the season.
3 of Newcastle United's 8 different scorers at Sheffield United make the side but our top rating went to one of their few starters who didn't get a goal: Kieren Trippier (he did get a hat-trick of assists though!).
Heung-Min Son on his goals against Arsenal: "These are team goals. I’m not really comfortable talking about ‘my’ goals, because they are always 'team' goals. That’s really important. In the end, I score the goals, I get the last touches, but the work that goes in... Brennan had a chance to score before we scored, a cross from Pape, then it was a bit of chaos, Brennan shot, saved, then we lost the ball, then Madders won it back, worked really, really well to the line left side, he found me with an amazing cross with his left foot and then it’s just a touch with my left foot and luckily it goes to the goal. We were 1-0 down and just before half-time we came back strongly, so, very, very important. The second goal was something special, but I talked about this situation to Madders before the second half. They made substitutions and we wanted to be more aggressive when their midfielders had the ball, and Madders did it. He won the ball, drove forward and played it at the right time, obviously, he didn’t pass too early or too late, he passed at the right time to make my finish really easy. Inside the box, if I have this chance, I’m really confident I can score the goals and running to the fans, that was really special. They were celebrating with me, together, it was special. I’m very pleased and happy with the team performance."
🎙️| #Tottenham Captain Son Heung-Min 🇰🇷 on James Maddison 🏴💫:
“No 10 is an iconic number wherever you go. You had Harry Kane, who is one of the best players in the world, right?”
“But Madders thinks he can go to the same category as him. Taking No 10 is not the easiest job but he loves the pressure, loves the responsibility, which makes a great player [even] more.”
Heung-Min Son scored his 149th and 150th goals for the Club in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal. He is now the sixth player in our history to have scored 150 goals in our colours and is nine off a place in our top five with Cliff Jones currently sitting in fifth with 159 goals to his name. He is now the Premier League's second highest goalscorer this season with five goals in our first six games. Only Manchester City's Erling Haaland has more with eight to his name.
Our '150 goals' Club:
1 - Harry Kane - 2011-2023 - 280 goals in 435 appearances
2 - Jimmy Greaves - 1961-70 - 266/379
3 - Bobby Smith - 1955-64 - 208/317
4 - Martin Chivers - 1968-76 - 174/367
5 - Cliff Jones - 1958-68 - 159/378
6 - Heung-Min Son - 2015-present - 150/379
Harry Redknapp on Heung-Min Son: "Son to me seems to be relishing the slightly different role he is playing this season and has always been a man you can count on in big games. His electric finish lit up the game (against Arsenal) and he is going to be my star man for this week."
Heung-Min Son has become the latest global ambassador for Pepsi. Sonny said: "The brand’s commitment to bringing joy, energy, and excitement into people’s lives under its ‘Thirsty for More’ tagline is something that resonates deeply with me and I see a strong synergy between my values and the aspirations of Pepsi. I’m buzzing for the world to see what we’ve got planned in 2023 and beyond.”

Sky Sports Premier League Official
Fans attending our home Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday (kick-off 5.30pm) are advised to take note of the following travel information, which includes details of Industrial Action and TfL track closures ⤵️ https://twitter.com/SpursStadium/status/1707732269543178478
Postecoglou on injury news: "From last week, Brennan will miss out. It's nothing too serious but he won't be right for this weekend. Madders and Sonny trained today, they got through it, and we'll have to see (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1707732080883286312
Postecoglou on being a Liverpool fan as a kid: "It was the 70s so you could have gone one or two ways as they only used to show Liverpool or Man Utd back then [in Australia]. I had a couple of mates went the United way and I went with Liverpool to make it interesting. (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1707732992108425317
Postecoglou on Son being a great ambassador for the club as captain: "To be fair to Sonny, he always has been. He hasn't needed the armband to show his love for the football club." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1707734595431501961
Asked Postecoglou about Bryan Gil: "Yeah, like you've said he's been a bit unfortunate in that pretty much since the start of pre-season he's had a couple of injuries that haven't allowed him to train with the team. He had a good year last year away from here and (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1707741049299308551
"he certainly plays in a position where guys with his attributes can certainly fit into our structure.
"It'll be good to see Bryan getting up to speed over the next couple of weeks, training with the team and then, obviously with Ivan going down, we're one down (contd) https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1707741051409092684
Also asked Postecoglou if Rodrigo Bentancur is ahead of schedule: "Nah, nah. There's no change. All Rodrigo's doing at the moment is warm-ups with the teams so he's not doing it on his own, but he's not participated in any sort of meaningful training yet." https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1707741967491256460
#thfc Postecoglou says Spurs "have our own blueprint" but there's inspiration to be drawn from Klopp's Liverpool & their success without a state or oligarch. But to beat them tomorrow, Spurs need to address a hideous run of form in this fixture. Preview: https://twitter.com/Dan_KP/status/1707836182493540650
Ange Postecoglou on Maddison and Son: "Yeah they’ve been good. They've been very good. Both on and off the field, along with Romero, have driven the lads to maintain a level of performance they’re going to get every week."
Ange Postecoglou on some players being disappointed that Spurs didn't win the North London Derby: "From that perspective absolutely, and that’s all player driven, it’s got nothing to do with me. They’re the ones embracing what we’re doing, and yeah it wasn’t euphoric in the dressing room by any stretch. We knew it was going to be a tough game and Arsenal have already shown they’re going to be a force this season, and they played well last week and had their moments but we felt like we more than held their own and the lads being disappointed is a good indicator of where we’re at and where their ambitions lie. So it’s up to me and the other coaches to keep providing that platform and environment for them to keep pushing on and see what levels they can reach."
Ange Postecoglou on does he rate Liverpool highly: "Yeah, very highly. They've been a very good football team for a while now. obviously they fell off the pace last year a little but the elements of who they are as a football team have always been there. It's a great test for us. They probably bring something different from any other team in the league in the way they play and the manner they go about things, and it'll be a really good test for us to try to impose our football on a team that's fairly unique in the way they play the game. Jurgen is an outstanding manager, he's one the managers I think it's fair to say who has made an impact on the competition, not just his club. Because when he came in, with the way Liverpool went about things, he challenged quite a few of the conventions about the Premier League and introduced a new style of play that others have followed. It's a great test for where we are at the moment in terms of our development."
Postecoglou on the the Liverpool game, 'Do you relish it, two good sides up against each other?': "Yeah I thought similar to last week. Arsenal were in good form, we were in good form and it ended up being a fairly decent game of football, fairly high quality. You are looking for that tomorrow and the real emphasis for us at the moment is it has to be about our own development. Can we impose our style of football against another top class opponent that play different to last week's opponent and how much of ourselves can we show? The more we go through these tests and show ourselves it gives us the belief to keep going down this road and accelerating the growth. We're at home so not a small incidental thing but we've had seven official games so far including Carabao Cup and only had two at home so it shows a fair bit of resilience from this group that we've come through this period with a really strong level of performance and results. Being at home tomorrow will help us in that sense as well."
Ange Postecoglou on the club announcing a partnership with Socios for fan tokens and the backlash from supporters: "Firstly, I’ve got no idea what you’re talking about. Secondly, I’ve never felt it was my place. I’d hate to think there was a football matter and we’d get the head of commerce or the commercial area or marketing area to answer those questions. It would be disrespectful to me. There are plenty of good forums for that to be discussed and I’m not going to be involved in that."
Postecoglou on Yves Bissouma picking up 3 yellow cards in 6 games: "I think sometimes those things are just consequences of game state and the way things are going. I've never worried about talking to players about that area. If they're picking up sort of needless ones, if it's around dissent and things like that, then potentially you'd have a word. Biss has obviously become a really important part of what we're doing and we don't want him missing games, but there's certainly nothing there at the moment for me to specifically address him about it. He plays in an area of the park where there's a lot of action and he's involved in all of it which is brilliant for us. I'd hate for me to say something that curtails that because it's a big part of how the team is set up."

@CDEccleshare on how Micky van de Ven became one of Europe's most exciting defenders.
"I definitely agree with Messi. I've been with him [Romero] at the training ground this week and if I don't agree with Messi he'll come and get me! He's a wonderful player.
"He found it a little bit difficult since he arrived because of the way the team was playing — he was very exposed.
"This is not happening right now and he was one of the most important players for his country when they won the World Cup.
"He's also one of the most important players for us as well. He's been made vice-captain, which is another great thing for him." #THFC
9 James Maddison (new entry)
Everything that James Maddison touches seems to turn to goals, at the moment.
The Tottenham playmaker marked his first North London Derby appearance with two assists, as the rivals played out a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon.
For the first, Maddison spun around Arsenal's Bukayo Saka before expertly pulling the ball back to Son Heung-Min in the penalty area.
And then, in the second-half, the ex-Leicester City star picked the pocket of Jorginho before setting up his South Korean team-mate once more.
If his on-pitch performance wasn't impressive enough, his comments poking fun at rival Saka certainly pleased the Tottenham fanbase.
3 Son Heung-Min (up five)
We may never truly know if Salah wanted to leave Liverpool when the Saudi Pro League came knocking, but he's not shown any signs of it since.
While Saka was thoroughly impressive during the north London derby, he still wasn't the best winger on the pitch.
Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min also produced a brace on the day to earn his such a hard-earned point.
With one neat finish in the first-half and a calmly taken effort in the second, the 31-year-old stepped up when his side truly needed him.
That's five goals in six games as a striker for the South Korean, who has embraced his new-found responsibility under Ange Postecoglou.
He feels like a throw back on & off the pitch.
A genuine number 10 when that role & player feels like it’s becoming redundant in the modern game, and his cheeky chappy personality is great for us on TV!
"Tottenham are doing really well Ange seems to be a top bloke.
"No [I've not met him] yet. But I’m looking forward to meeting him. I'm pretty sure everyone knew already when you saw Celtic playing in recent years.
"What kind of coach he is and who he is as a coach coming out to Tottenham where I think they were all desperate for some offensive football and he’s delivering that obviously.
"In a year where Harry Kane left the club, he’s doing extremely well. They’re a well set up team. It's exciting to watch so yes, it will be a real test for both of us."
“It was probably the priority position when I came in because at the time it looked like Hugo was moving on and there was a need for a new starting goalkeeper. You get presented with some options and I just really liked Vic from the start in terms of the characteristics he has as a goalkeeper - his agility, his demeanour, his character. Then I spoke to him and he's just such an infectious personality. He was so determined. He was so determined he wanted to come to Tottenham and prove himself at the next level. If you look at his career, he hasn't had a long time at the top level, similar to Micky van de Ven and a couple of others. I like players who have worked their way up from a low level very quickly because it shows that they adapt very quickly but also that they're coachable, that they learn, and you look at Vic, and he's taken big steps very, very quickly and he's been absolutely outstanding for us in the first six or seven games. He's been a really strong influence on the field in the big moments when we've needed him and he comes in every day and wants to improve, and that's exactly what we need.”
“When I got the role I had a look at all the players who were out on loan last year and Destiny was one. I really liked his profile. Physically he's got outstanding attributes but he obviously played a different style of football in terms of a lot of times he was used as an attacking wing-back. He made a real impact in a tough league as a young man. Serie A is a tough league. He handled himself really well and it was one of those where as soon as we got him in I could see that he wants to improve every day. He's got outstanding attributes and for a 20-year-old he's already had some really big challenges defensively and he's handled himself so well. When he has the ball and he runs forward he looks exciting. I'm really pleased to have him in the group.”
🎙️| Postecoglou on his willingness to give young players a chance:
“It just depends. You've got to make sure young players are going to be able to handle what comes playing at this level. You certainly don't want to expose them too early because it can have a detrimental effect. I've always felt - and again it's something that's been consistent when I'm building teams - I try to give them as much security as I possibly can, for them to know that there's nothing that's going to happen out there that's going to be terminal in terms of their careers. Don't stress about the mistakes, don't stress about not playing well. I'll back you - as long as I'm seeing that you're improving and working hard and doing all the things I need you to do.' Because part of that stress as a young player is feeling like you need to play really well to keep your place in the team and fearing that if you make a mistake in front of the whole world that's going to cost you something. It's not just about the young players, all of us are in the same boat. We're setting off on a new course and there's potential it won't work. So we're all feeling the same. I'm no different to them, because I'm sure if after the first seven games, we were on two wins instead of four, I'm sure [the chairman] would be on at me right now. It's not how I think. It's not how I'm wired, I don't care about that. This is what we're doing. We're going to go down this road and be successful and I try to provide that framework so at least it releases that anxiety and they can play as themselves, and then it's up to them. There's no guarantee. If their performances drop, then of course they won't play but I think it helps the young players focus on being as much themselves without stressing too much about outcomes.”
"In terms of Sonny, it’s fair to say, and he’s said it himself, I don’t think he was 100 per cent fit last year, but that’s his nature, if asked to play, he will play and do his utmost. I think that probably affected his form more than anything else. Last year was a bit of a unique year for a lot of players because of the World Cup. I don’t think it was a normal year in many respects for top players. The quality Sonny has, there is no doubt… I don’t think I’ve done anything dramatic to him, I think he just feels better. He’s had a good pre-season and loves playing for this football club. I think the way we’re playing really suits him for where he’s at in his career. I’m sure there is more to come."
