Kim Min-jae, 6 – A strong Bundesliga debut from the South Korean. Doesn’t look out of place in this Bayern Munich squad and showcased his pace and power. An excellent addition at centre-back. Yellow carded.
Der Kaiser: Alphonso Davies
This was the toughest decision out of all these awards — and required a lot of internal debate on three different players — but Davies’ assist on Harry Kane’s goal gave him the boost. Both Noussair Mazraoui and Davies were involved in the attack but the Canadian’s attempts led to greater success. The backline was at its best when Matthijs de Ligt came on, though. Hopefully we see a consistent Davies finally this season.
Fußballgott: Leon Goretzka
Leon Goretzka had an energizing performance today. The German midfielder looked hungry as ever and made plenty of attacking runs and great attempts. While he didn’t contribute to a goal, he was as close as anyone on the team. Bonus points for attempting a bicycle kick too.
Der Bomber: Leroy Sané
Leroy Sané scored Bayern Munich’s game-winner and final goal. While he didn’t play exceptionally, he looked sharp at times, especially on the ball. No other Bayern attacker deserved it more, as Bayern was particularly wasteful — especially Kingsley Coman. Maybe this is the season Sané finally reaches his potential? If so, that would be game-changing.
Meister of the Match: Harry Kane
Harry Kane had a solid debut for Die Roten. One goal, one assist. His teammates probably prevented him from scoring more, if anything. Of course, this is biased but it’s the Bundesliga debut for the club’s biggest-ever signing. Isn’t that alone worthy of celebration?
4. Kim min-jae
Der Südkoreaner stand in der Defensive in Halbzeit eins sicher und hatte keinerlei Probleme. Kurz vor der Pause verzeichnete er einen ersten Offensivkopfball, der jedoch eher harmlos war. Als Bremen in Hälfte zwei jedoch zulegte, verlor der neue Abwehrspieler ein wenig den Überblick. Ein schwacher Pass leitete die Füllkrug-Chance in der 48. Minute ein, ehe er kurz darauf die gelbe Karte nach einer Fast-Notbremse sah. Mehrere Unsicherheiten führten dazu, dass er in der 68. Minute durch de Ligt ersetzt wurde.
Der Star des Spiels: Leroy Sané (FC Bayern München)
Sehr umtriebiges Spiel von Leroy Sané. Wiederholt nutzte er die Räume des immer wieder zurückfallenden Kane, in der 4. Minute führte eine solche Aktion zum Torerfolg. Kurz vor Schluss machte Sané den Doppelpack perfekt, als er nach Vorlage von Müller nur noch einschieben musste.

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich). While Sane deserves plaudits for two well-taken goals, nobody did more than Kane to secure the win.
After missing out on his first silverware as Bayern let the DFL-Supercup slip through their fingers, this was the best response he could have given.

Used all of his experience down the left flank to try to pull the United defence across. Linked up really well with Udogie and Maddison and went into the centre after Richarlison left the pitch. 7
Stretched United and was a threat when cutting inside, seeing a goal-bound effort blocked by Luke Shaw. Made a chance for Sarr with a cleverly disguised pass.
L'HOMME DU MATCH
Kylian Mbappé (PSG). C'est un peu le choix facile, mais l'attaquant parisien a fait un retour impressionnant. Entré en jeu à la 51ème minute, le capitaine de l'équipe de France a fait tout de suite la différence. Il a enfin permis à cette équipe de Luis Enrique de montrer quelque chose offensivement. Par sa vitesse, ses propositions sans ballon, ses choix, Kylian Mbappé a montré qu'il était indispensable au PSG. Le joueur de 24 ans a même été décisif, en provoquant, puis transformant le penalty qui aurait pu offrir la victoire. Son retour était attendu, il n'a pas déçu. Dommage qu'il manque le résultat.
L'homme du match : Kylian Mbappé (7/10) Son entrée a changé le visage du Paris Saint-Germain, trop peu dangereux sans lui. Sans tout réussir, l'international français, avec Dembélé, a tout de suite apporté sa percussion pour dynamiser les offensives parisiennes. Sur une accélération, il a provoqué un penalty face à Nicolaisen et l'a transformé dans la foulée. Même par la suite, le Tricolore a été inspiré et a été proche de donner une passe décisive pour Ramos, trop court. Un retour réussi malgré le nul concédé.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Kylian Mbappe (PSG). The France captain was on the pitch for less than a half, but was clearly the best player. Pretty much single-handedly dragged PSG into the lead, then created a great chance for them to double it. It is telling that Mbappe led the side in both shots and shots on target, despite other playing for twice as long.
8. Kang-In Lee 4/10
Prestation décevante de Kang-In Lee. Intéressant lors de sa première sortie face à Lorient, le Sud-corréen n'a pas été au niveau face au Téfécé. Aligné au poste d'ailier gauche, il n'a pas su peser sur la défense adverse ou même créer du danger dans les derniers mètres.
L'ancien joueur de Majorque a semblé un peu perdu sur le terrain, ne réussisant jamais à combiner avec Gonçalo Ramos, Lucas Hernandez ou encore Fabian Ruiz.
- Lee Kang-in (5,5) : belle activité de l’international sud-coréen. En première période, il a toujours été disponible pour apporter du rythme aux séquences de contres sans perdre de ballon pour autant. Ses qualités de dribbles ont permis de casser le bloc du TFC à plusieurs reprises. Indispensable dans le jeu de possession du PSG. Il a laissé sa place assez tôt dans la rencontre pour être plus décisif et efficace. Averti à la 45e+1. Remplacé par Mbappé à la 51ème minute qui a mis le feu sur le côté gauche dès son entrée en jeu. Il a provoqué et transformé le pénalty (62e) qui a permis au PSG de prendre les devants au tableau d’affichage.
Lee Kang In (5) – Un petit match du Coréen, qui a mis beaucoup d’énergie et a apporté quelques centres intéressants, mais sans être vraiment convaincant sur tout son temps de jeu. Remplacé à la 50e minute par Kylian Mbappé.
Entraîneur –
Luis Enrique (7) – Il n’a pas fait démarrer des joueurs justes parce qu’ils étaient dorénavant disponibles. L’entraîneur du PSG fait de vrais choix. Certains vont peut-être reprocher les modifications tactiques au cours de la rencontre. Ce serait oublier que le PSG a eu plusieurs grosses occasions pour creuser l’écart et que l’égalisation est subie une erreur individuelle. Paris a dominé avec des idées et semble être sur la bonne voie.
Further proof was probably not needed, but last season's Ligue 1 Uber Eats top scorer showed the impact he can have on a game almost immediately. He and Dembélé give PSG pace and quality that few teams will be able to match in the top flight.

Wolfsburg interested in Wolves' Hwang
Wolfsburg are interested in talking to Wolves about a deal for forward Hee-Chan Hwang.
The South Korea international came on as a substitute during Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at home to Brighton and scored their first Premier League goal of the season.
The 27-year-old has experience in Germany after a season on loan with Hamburg and a spell with RB Leipzig before his move to Molineux.

4. Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich)
Upamecano at his best is simply one of the best center-backs in the world, but it is his lack of consistency which knocks him down a few pegs. Upamecano’s positional awareness may not be the best but he makes up for it with a great tackling game and, I have to say it: the best passing range of any center-back in Europe. There is no defender better in the world at progressing the ball than Upamecano.
2. Min-jae Kim (Bayern Munich)
Bayern’s latest superstar addition in defense is South Korea’s Min-jae Kim. The former Napoli man was instrumental in Napoli winning the Scudetto after a thirty year drought, and will be revolutionary for Bayern’s defense. Kim’s positional awareness and ability to command a defense is unparalleled in the world, as he very rarely puts a tackle or interception in but rather uses his positioning and communication to win the ball back.
1. Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern Munich)
Of course it was going to be De Ligt at the top spot. The Dutch international is my favourite defender of this generation and to watch him play in Bayern colours has felt like nothing short of an honour. De Ligt’s ground game is one of the best in Europe, and his passing range and overall ability on the ball is rare to find in any player across the decades of football history. He is perhaps the only defender in modern football who can decide games all by himself both in defending his own goal as well as scoring at the other end, which he has done for Bayern time and time again in the last year.
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has some pretty good options at center-back in Matthijs de Ligt, Dayot Upamecano, and Kim Min-jae.
Unfortunately for that trio, only two of them can start at a time in the coach’s 4-2-3-1, which could make things complicated, depending on how Tuchel manages each player.
“They’re all playing at a very high level. Kim has the potential to become a real leader. He comes every day with a new sentence in German. He has what it takes to become a very dominant player for us. Upa was available all pre-season, Matthijs is coming out of an injury. Our wish is to find a solid back four without many changes,” said Tuchel (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The only puzzling part of that statement was what Tuchel meant by “back four.”

Whilst the Uruguayan isn’t the star of the show, he is the perfect solution to PSG’s midfield woes. Tenacity, work-rate, and the eye for good positioning and a tough tackle has quickly seen the midfielder quickly endear himself to the Parisian faithful. He was vital in Luis Enrique's midfield tonight, providing the grit needed and the springboard for many of the attacks which threatened the opposition.

Defensiv kann man Kim wenig vorwerfen, jedoch markierte er in Durchgang eins zu viele Fehlpässe im Spielaufbau. Im zweiten Abschnitt konnte er seine Fehler weitgehend abstellen und zeigte im Verbund mit Upamecano eine ordentliche Leistung.

He gave Bayern a two-goal cushion when he convincingly converted his first-half penalty, before instinctively dinking the ball over the goalkeeper for his second, and Bayern’s third.
Tuchel and Bayern fans will have enjoyed the second goal especially, because it’s the sort of quality in front of goal they’ve missed since the departure of Robert Lewandowski last year.
It feels as though Bayern finally have their replacement.

Nach seinem ersten Bundesliga-Tor und seiner ersten Vorlage in der Vorwoche bei Werder Bremen nun der erste Bundesliga-Doppelpack des Mehr-als-100-Millionen-Mann. Kane war zwar nur wenig in das recht ambitionslose Spiel seiner Mannschaft integriert, er wurde, wenn er sich ins Mittelfeld zurückfallen ließ, nur selten angespielt. Aber er wurde fürs Toreschießen geholt - und das gelingt ihm fast schon beängstigend souverän mit der Selbstverständlichkeit eines echten Goalgetters.
