The formation was not a problem today for Tottenham but the line-up sure was. The team was unbalanced almost the entire afternoon and they struggled to find their footing, particularly in the midfield, where the ball seemed to bypass again and again. When Eric Dier leads the team in passing it is never a good thing and is seemed like Spurs were going to just keep doing what they were doing until the whistle blew of Fulham scored, whichever came first. Then to bring on a player who hasn’t played in nearly a month to be a difference maker just did not make good sense.
Mourinho must find new ways to play with a lead as the dropped points from winning positions have pretty much meant the end of any hopes at the Premier League title and are making top four even more unlikely by the match. Spurs needed more tonight, Mourinho needs to demand it, because we are as fans.
Heung-Min Son was for Tottenham against Fulham what Steven Bergwijn was against Liverpool, the one who had the most chances and the most misses. Like Bergwijn against LIverpool, Son too hit the post and had a couple other efforts go off target and two excellent chances saved. A disappointing day as Son could not get any of four chances to go in.

Danny Rose had a stellar career in the Premier League, and would bring plenty of PL experience to the baggies - so it’s easy to understand why Big Sam would be after him.
He also has been known to score a worldie, such as on his Spurs debut in 2010. And since that day he has become Spurs longest serving player, despite being frozen out by Don Jose.
Spurs can’t seem to finish sides off just now. It’s a bad habit to get into and one you wouldn’t expect from a Jose Mourinho side.
Sheffield United fans will have shared a collective huge sigh of relief after getting their long awaited first win of the season against Newcastle. It will be interesting to see how they go from here. The Blades were excellent last season and if they can play anywhere near that level for the rest of their campaign, it could get very interesting down at the bottom.
That said, Spurs really should be winning this. I think playing away from home suits them better and if Sheffield United decide to have a go, I could see Messrs Son and Kane pouncing on the counter.

There was clear room for experimentation which he's been hesitant to indulge in the past, he used a defensive set-up to mask some of their more obvious frailties and he's come to learn that his side needs to go for the kill when they have the opportunity to do so. In terms of his substitutions, he probably could've made some changes a bit sooner than he did.

José Mourinho was not going to accept the status quo with his team given everything that has been transpiring and switched up the formation for Sunday against Sheffield. The change to a back three is often seen as defensive, particularly when you have two players who are normally fullbacks at outside midfield. However, Spurs were aggressive and forward thinking with the line-up and maybe the formation might get some more run.
