It is with deep regret that we announce the closure of Dubtrack. In the last few months we have battled with funding Dubtrack, and after the departure of Jrajav, we haven't been able to figure out a way to continue.
This weekends downtime was related to Jrajav cancelling and shutting down what he had been paying for. I want to make it clear that this was not his fault as he had given us a grace period to figure out a plan for the future.
I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting Dubtrack over the years - it's been a truly amazing.
Don't jump ship just yet. We're working out a way we can stay online. The site won't come back online immediately, as we still have a backend issue will I'll try fix when I'm home.

We're temporarily closing our digital doors whilst we work on improving Dubtrack and ensuring it's sustainable to run for the years to come. We don't know when we will be back, but we hope it won't take too long.
Don't worry about your playlists - they're safe! We're working on a way to allow people to export them and will update you once it's ready to use.
We'll miss each and every one of you who helped and supported us over the years and cannot thank you enough.

We've started up a gofundme campaign to cover this month expenses, so we can keep Dubtrack up and going while we figure out how to move forward in the future! Any donation is welcomed.

Hi Funders!
As you might have noticed Dubtrack is not back yet. After consulting with the admins of Dubtrack this is due to an outstanding balance there is with Packet with a grant total of $5000. This wouldn't even bring Dubtrack back as it is for the past period. Although Packet tried working with the admins by offering them a discount of 50%, this would still be too much to pay for the current volunteers and project members, therefore Packet did shut the servers down -- they must keep their balance in check too after all.
In consequence as of this moment it is a unclear how to resolve this further and who the technical owner of Dubtrack is and what to do with the domain. It is clear that if we would bring Dubtrack back, we must do so with another provider with the technology scaled down to a less costing solution. This might take a long time though and there seem to be no concrete plans on how to do so, what steps to take nor a timeline.
So what's happening now? First a shout-out to @Netux, he has been working on a playlist exporter for users to retrieve their playlists. Some sneak-peak images can be found in this post taken from the super secret staff chat. As you might notice it is very much in the works, but seems functional and the data is there.
As for the donations, would we not find a solution or a plan to bring Dubtrack back in the next weeks, the funds will not be withdrawn, meaning they will all be refunded within 4-6 weeks. Meanwhile we hope you found a (temporary) new home on other platforms and when there is more news to report we'll check in again!

@everyone Hello gang. First of all I'd like to start this announcement with a thank you. The love and support you've all shown over the last few weeks has well and truly been amazing, and has definitely helped us move things along.
Now onto GoFundMe. I can't thank everyone who donated enough to the campaign. Your monetary support has enabled us to ensure we have enough money to be able to setup an environment where we can host the playlist exporter. Very soon, the GoFundMe will be closed and we will not be accepting anymore donations.
Moving onto the exporter, the tool has been built and is ready to ship. We're currently at a point where we need to migrate your playlists out of our main database in order for you to be able to export them. While I don't have a set in stone ETA, I expect this to be finished quite soon. Once we have an ETA, we will let you all know.

Unfortunately on our birthday we're running into issues with
@TeamYouTube @GCPcloud @googledevs's API.
Our key is currently limited resulting in YouTube search not working sitewide.
We're doing our best to get this fixed for you ASAP.
In the meanwhile, please use SoundCloud.
Sorry for the wait, everyone. We're still trying our best to get in touch with @TeamYouTube to get this resolved. If there are any more updates, we'll keep you posted.
Hi again. We're still busy working with @TeamYouTube to get their API issues resolved. It's out of our control.
In the meanwhile we also have to renew our security certificates, we're doing that on March 20, we will need a short maintenance mode to restart services.
Today we have to share some sad news with you and explain how this will impact everything moving forward.
Recently we were made aware that the previous owner of Dubtrack has taken control of our domain (dubtrack.fm) and has locked us out completely. For over a year we have been battling to gain access to all of Dubtrack's accounts to ensure we can continue to operate normally. Today, however, marks the last day we invest any more time and effort into this.
What is the future of Dubtrack?
We remain committed to reviving Dubtrack, but after this recent discovery, we are left with no choice but to rebrand the service. Since 2012, Dubtrack has served millions of unique people who share the same passion, and has seen hundreds of events hosted on the platform. The name also carries infamies and complications that we would like to disconnect from, so we hope you can understand.
What will happen to the domain?
In all honesty, we have no idea. The previous owner is free to do whatever they want with it. From this point onwards, we cannot control any content on that domain and we would consider it unsafe to input any data on there.
Is my data that Dubtrack stores safe?
Yes. We have always been very careful with who we allow to have access to your data. For the avoidance of doubt, there has not been a breach of your data and it is still only within the hands of the admin team.
Social channels
In a similar fashion to the domain, we lost access to our main Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dubtrackfm/). Any future posts made on there are not from us. We do, however, have full access to our other Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Dubtrack/) which before was used for our old YouTube channel. We plan to repurpose this and use it as our main Facebook page - make sure you go ahead and like it.
We are in full control of our official Twitter account (https://twitter.com/dubtrack_fm) so there's no change there - Make sure to follow us if you’re not already.
It is with those pages and this Discord server combined that make up our official social channels. We will post the most up-to-date information to all these channels, so ensure you’re following and be weary of information you see outside of them.
The last few years have been difficult for us, and this situation doesn't help either. The next chapter for us will not be easy either, but we are still very determined to come back bigger and better. We realise it's been over 5 months since we closed, and it pains us as much as it does you that we're still not back especially during the current pandemic, however we can assure you we are doing what we can to return.
This situation will set us back further due to the changes we have to make on our end, though it goes without saying that we really appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this.
