Hibiki was the 22nd of Fubuki-class destroyers,
and the 2nd of Akatsuki-class destroyers,
built for the Imperial Japanese Navy.
She was built by Maizuru Naval Arsenal,
and launched on June 16, 1932.
During Pacific War,
she did not sink in spite of three serious damage.
By luck that survived until the end of the war,
she was often described "unsinkable ship", "phoenix",
or "ship of fate that survive the war."
After the war,
Hibiki was turned over to the Soviet Union at Nahodka
as a prize of war.
She placed in service with the Soviet Navy
under the name "Verniy".
She was placed in service with the Soviet Pacific Fleet
based at Vladivostok.
She was renamed again on July 5, 1948 as "Dekabrist",
and changed to the training ship.
She was retired from service on February 20, 1953
and subsequently scrapped.
