Customer Service Edited by Wymdar on 3/18/11 9:51 AM (UTC) With the recent earthquake in Japan, some of the undersea internet cables between Asia and North America were damaged. The cables that go between Australia and North America were not damaged, however most traffic coming out of Asia is being routed through Australia, leading to an increased load on these lines.
Due to the now more limited bandwidth, you may encounter latency and packet loss for the time being, especially during prime time hours. Unfortunately Blizzard is unable to directly resolve this issue, however we are in contact with the parties in control of these systems and have been assured that these issues are being worked on as quickly as possible.
We thank you for your patience in the meantime as these issues continue to be investigated. #1
