The name "Ooba Kanako" is also a homonym for [very stupid girl], which is an arbitrary name.

She died after this "Tumbling Doll of Flesh" appearance, committing railroad suicide a week before the film was sold.
This is true, and appears to have been discussed in an interview with Director Anaru published in 2012.
